Juneteenth will be observed around the country on June 19, the same day in 1865 when 250,000 enslaved African Americans in Texas were informed they were free. On Friday, you can get a head start on the festivities with the city of West Sacramento’s fourth annual Juneteenth celebration.

The free event is all about the joy of community, resilience and justice for all. Bring the family for an evening of music, dance performances, art demonstrations and more. Note that a tote bag and $10 food truck voucher go to the first 200 attendees.
