SUMMARY:The Californios Play Amatoria Fine Art Books + Abridged by KVIE
DESCRIPTION:A concert + conversation around music\, books\, and the art scene in Sacramento. \n\n\n\n\nSacramento\, come join us for another installment of The Stacks! We welcome a local favorite\, Mike Blanchard and The Californios. Don’t miss this evening of good old-fashioned Americana music and a lively interview with Mike and KVIE reporter Chris Macias\, followed by refreshments and book browsing. \nMike Blanchard is a singer-songwriter\, former photographer for Thrasher\, and publisher of car enthusiast magazine\, Rust. He is joined by long-time collaborators Vincent Montoya on acoustic guitar and vocals\, veteran bassist Rob Meyer\, and guitarist Roger Kunkel of the much-admired alt-country outfit Thin White Rope. \nPark your horse at our hitching post and come sit around the campfire with these crooning vaqueros who have decades of musical history between them. After the music and Q&A\, stick around to meet the artists\, enjoy refreshments\, and browse amazing books on the arts. \nImportant Event Notes: \nDoors! Doors open at 6:00 but will close at 6:30pm! This is a filmed event and to ensure no disruption\, we unfortunately cannot accommodate late entrance. \nSeating! This is a small space and seating will be a mix of chairs and standing room. If you will require a chair\, reach out to the store with your reservation. \nParking + Bike Rack! We now have our own bike rack right out front of the store. If you are driving\, there is plenty of neighborhood parking available. \nFilming! This is a filmed event that will be the property of KVIE and shared on the Abridged platform. The focus will be on the artists and the interviewer\, but all concert guests may appear on film. By purchasing your ticket\, you are giving permission for Abridged to use footage that may include you. \nBonus! By RSVPing for this event\, you’ll also get access to Abridged by PBS KVIE’s free\, weekly entertainment newsletter. Cultural Capital by Chris Macias will keep you in the know on all things local music. We’ll also share updates on this exciting partnership with Amatoria — you won’t want to miss what’s next! You can opt out any time. \nAnd please consider getting on Amatoria’s newsletter too\, we have poetry readings\, artist talks\, and great book sales. Here’s a link to our site\, just scroll to the bottom and enter your email. \nSee you in the stacks. ;)
