The exhibition will also feature opportunities to hear directly from the artists and engage with their ideas and creative process.

It is clear that cultural knowledge about tule is a critical part of the tools required in this endeavor.” – Diana Almendariz \nA public exhibition on wetland stewardship featuring the eco-cultural and artistic practice of Wintun/Maidu culture-bearer Diana Almendariz and her daughters Ooti Maxine and Christina Almendariz. Tickets and sponsorships are available for the event that will take place at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento\, 1230 J Street\, at 5:30pm and will include a cocktail hour\, live music\, silent and live auctions\, an inspirational program and a three-course meal. To purchase tickets or a table\, sponsor the event or sponsor a graduate to attend: www.womens-empowerment.org/gala. \nWomen’s Empowerment is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year as the most comprehensive job-readiness program in the Sacramento area designed specifically to help women break the generational cycle of homelessness for themselves and their children. Each woman begins with a nine-week employment-readiness and empowerment program that includes free transportation assistance\, onsite childcare\, group classes\, and one-on-one work with a social worker\, housing navigator\, job developer and volunteer career mentor. Each woman who graduates from the nine-week program can return for services at any point in her life when she needs additional tools\, including paid job training and transitional workforce housing. \nSince 2001\, more than 2\,000 women have graduated from the program with their 4\,000+ children.
