SUMMARY:Tropeycalia Club Exhibition coming to CSUS Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Título Salvaje ⇄ Salvaged Title is a multidisciplinary exhibition by the Tropeycalia Club at the Sacramento State University Library Gallery\, exploring cultural identity\, decolonization\, and political resistance through painting\, mixed media\, and installation. Inspired by Brazil’s late-1960s Tropicália movement and its spirit of cultural and political dissent\, the exhibition brings together artists whose work reflects on culture\, history\, and contemporary society. The exhibition will also feature opportunities to hear directly from the artists and engage with their ideas and creative process.

SUMMARY:Behind the Barre
DESCRIPTION:Capital Dance Project’s annual production Behind the Barre is a true celebration of our vibrant Sacramento community and arts scene.  Since our inaugural performance in 2015\, Behind the Barre has presented 90 world premiere dance works\, and provided a platform for over 80 local artists\, musicians\, and professional dancers. \nThe highly acclaimed program pairs CDP’s resident choreographers with our city’s most exciting visual artists and musicians for a thrilling multi-media performance.  A testament to the power of collaboration\, Behind the Barre never fails to leave our artists and audience inspired by what unfolds when different art forms and mediums are combined\, creating something truly unique.  The performance features stunning introductory films by longtime CDP collaborator Natalie Manning\, giving the audience a glimpse into the collaborative and creative process before seeing each piece.  Behind the Barre also celebrates our local makers\, artists\, and businesses with a Maker’s Market before the show\, and local brews provided by CDP community partner New Helvetia Brewing Company.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at Gallery 625 for the opening reception of Inside the Artist’s Studio 2026! All are welcome to attend this free event that coincides with the downtown Woodland First Friday event. \nThis exhibition celebrates the creative spaces of Yolo County Resident Artists. This non-juried exhibition is open to the first Artists who deliver their artwork to Gallery 625 on September 3rd\, and each participating Artist will have an artwork and a photo of themselves in their studio on display. \nIt’s a surprise which Artists will be included\, so join us at the opening reception to find out which artworks are on display! \nThe opening reception will be held on Friday\, September 4\, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Light refreshments\, Yolo County wine\, and live music by Jon Spivack will round out the evening. \nInside the Artist’s Studio will be on view at Gallery 625 from September 4 through October 30\, 2026. \nGallery 625 is located at 625 Court Street in Woodland\, in Yolo County’s Erwin Meier Administration building and is open Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm.
