DESCRIPTION:Título Salvaje ⇄ Salvaged Title is a multidisciplinary exhibition by the Tropeycalia Club at the Sacramento State University Library Gallery\, exploring cultural identity\, decolonization\, and political resistance through painting\, mixed media\, and installation. Inspired by Brazil’s late-1960s Tropicália movement and its spirit of cultural and political dissent\, the exhibition brings together artists whose work reflects on culture\, history\, and contemporary society. The exhibition will also feature opportunities to hear directly from the artists and engage with their ideas and creative process.

DESCRIPTION:YoloSol presents\nGood Fire\, Living Water: The Gifts of a Marsh Economy\nSeptember 20-November 13\, 2026\nDavis Arts Center \n“Tule (Schoenoplectus acutus var. occidentalis) has been my creative muse for 30 years. It still thrives in the rivers and marshes of California… Tule\, along with cattail\, is at the heart of the marsh economy… I am now in the process of working with ecologists and scientists to renew our understanding of how we can restore the wetlands. It is clear that cultural knowledge about tule is a critical part of the tools required in this endeavor.” – Diana Almendariz \nA public exhibition on wetland stewardship featuring the eco-cultural and artistic practice of Wintun/Maidu culture-bearer Diana Almendariz and her daughters Ooti Maxine and Christina Almendariz. The event will take place 5:30-7:30 p.m. at The Cannery Place\, 1601 Alhambra Blvd\, Suite 200\, in Sacramento\, and will include charcuterie\, wine and networking. Tickets are $65 per person. The evening also will feature an interactive fireside chat with local women leaders\, including: Dr. Dawnté Early\, president and CEO\, United Way California Capital Region; Lora Anguay\, CEO and general manager\, SMUD; and Mary Daffin\, co-owner\, The Jacquelyn\, with emcee Brandi Cummings\, anchor and reporter\, KCRA3. Through their signature initiative\, the Collegiate Guaranteed Income Program\, 20 former foster youth studying at Sacramento State and UC Davis receive $500 per month for one year\, along with access to mentorship\, financial coaching\, digital tools and wraparound support\, so students can cover basic needs like rent\, groceries and transportation while focusing on their education.
