DESCRIPTION:Help transform Louis Park with Tree Stockton and Clean California and partners\, Saturday\, May 16\, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.! Activities include trash pickup\, tree planting\, painting\, planting native species\, and removing invasive species. Wear closed shoes\, bring gloves and sunscreen/hat. We are community building\, so pull up! Bring yourself or bring a group out to make our air and water cleaner and Louis Park a more welcoming place. If you have kids\, make sure to check out free admission at Pixie Woods for Children and Families Day after lunch. Younger children welcome to participate with parent. It’s going to be fun! There will be food\, music and giveaways! Register to come out for breakfast\, activities and a pizza celebration at noon. \nDirections:\nMeet at west parking lot area\, past Stockton Rod and Gun Club and softball fields. Carpool if you can!

DESCRIPTION:From Cultural Capital by Chris Macias: \nLorraine Garcia-Nakata’s work is represented on one of Sacramento’s definitive murals\, and soon you can see more of her artistry up close. She’s among the two living members of the Royal Chicano Air Force who created the 14-feet-by-100-feet mural in Southside Park and known for large-scale works like the stunning “Precious Knowledge” on pastel and paper. \nHead to Blue Line Arts in Roseville on Saturday for the opening of her “Knowledge We Carry” solo show. Hear from Lorraine during a 4 p.m. lecture before viewing her work on a variety of media\, including a sculpture from 1974. The show runs through June 20.
