DESCRIPTION:Obstacle racing…it’s hip\, happening\, and promotes overall fitness in a fun atmosphere! \nThis September\, obstacle racing comes to Fairytale Town\, serving as a fantastic warmup for October’s Dignity Health Dirty Kid Obstacle Race at the Sacramento Adventure Playground\, or for anyone who simply wants to run over\, through and under Fairytale Town’s iconic play structures. \nGet your phones ready – this is a photo-worthy event! \nRace is for ages 4-15. Ages 4-5 will race over about a quarter mile with about 10 obstacles. Ages 6-15 will race about a half mile over approximately 16 obstacles\, with both races including water wading and bubbles (there is no mud obstacle at this event). Racers will be placed in age groups (“waves”) at 9:00am. \nEach racer will receive a Fairytale Town Family Pass for 4 (includes racer). Additional spectators must purchase admission to Fairytale Town. Fairytale Town Members can use ‘MEM’ discount code for $10 off. NOTE: No entrance passes for use of this code as Members get in for free.

Tickets and sponsorships are available for the event that will take place at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento\, 1230 J Street\, at 5:30pm and will include a cocktail hour\, live music\, silent and live auctions\, an inspirational program and a three-course meal. To purchase tickets or a table\, sponsor the event or sponsor a graduate to attend: www.womens-empowerment.org/gala. \nWomen’s Empowerment is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year as the most comprehensive job-readiness program in the Sacramento area designed specifically to help women break the generational cycle of homelessness for themselves and their children. Each woman begins with a nine-week employment-readiness and empowerment program that includes free transportation assistance\, onsite childcare\, group classes\, and one-on-one work with a social worker\, housing navigator\, job developer and volunteer career mentor. Each woman who graduates from the nine-week program can return for services at any point in her life when she needs additional tools\, including paid job training and transitional workforce housing. \nSince 2001\, more than 2\,000 women have graduated from the program with their 4\,000+ children.
