Senior Food Editor Benjy Egel visits Rice Bites on 16th Street between J and K streets in Sacramento. It’s the first area restaurant to specialize in fan tuan, Taiwanese sticky rice rolls stuffed with savory fillings.

Rice Bites opened earlier this year and builds its rolls with purple rice. It also serves a variety of fruit teas and smoothies.

It’s open seven days a week from roughly 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
