The Abridged version:
- Yolo County is getting its own weekly Abridged newsletter.
- The newsletter will launch Feb. 18 and will come to your inbox on Wednesday mornings.
It’s not news to us that Yolo County deserves its own newsletter.
Spend any time here and you feel its distinct sense of place. Residents, who live on farms set among rolling hills and apartment buildings with views of the Tower Bridge, are proud of their communities and deeply committed to their way of life.
Out of that pride and commitment have come stories worth highlighting — unique solutions to high-stakes problems, shifting relationships with the surrounding landscape and people working to make the county a better place.
But Yolo County also faces difficult challenges that can’t be ignored. There are diverging views on land use, limited access to resources, budget issues and environmental change.
That’s why we’re launching a weekly newsletter focused entirely on Yolo County and the people who call it home.
You’ll hear directly from me, your dedicated Yolo County reporter, every Wednesday morning starting Feb. 18. I’ll share stories from West Sacramento to the Capay Valley — with both my reporting and other fascinating slices of life from my journalistic adventures.
